First
North American tour
14 August 1974 - 25 December 1974
At most shows on this tour, Rush opened for another band, and
had to correspondingly play short sets of varying lengths and
content.
There is thus no one setlist, but simply sets from a series of
dates.
14
August 1974
Rush's first appearance as a band proper (i.e., having a record
contract with a major label),
with new drummer Neil Peart; this was the opening night of their
first tour.

but that leaves the source of version one a mystery. Clarifying
information would be appreciated.

Working Man
Bad Boy, written
by Larry Williams in 1959, is perhaps most famous in its cover
version by the Beatles. Their version can be found on CD on Past
Masters Volume One. Rush's version served primarily as a showcase
for Alex's (mostly) unaccompanied soloing, as Working Man did
for Neil.
Fancy Dancer,
also known as Can't You See, was a band original that never made
it to an official release.
In addition
to containing Neil's drum solo, Working Man also served on this
tour as an opportunity for a semi-improvisational jam. Parts of
this jam were eventually incorporated into By-Tor and the Snow
Dog.

to determine whether fixed sets were used for certain periods
of time, or the band decided nightly what material to play.
